The Academies’ World Cup of Football begins as always in summer, in the Fundación Marcet‘ Sports City, Barcelona. The competition will be carry out in three ways according to the ages of the participants.

  • 26th June-1st July: categories 2008-10
  • 3rd-15th July: category 2004
  • 17th-29th July: categories 2005-07

In every shift the 10 days of the World Cup are divided in two blocks: trainings during the first part of the day and matches in the afternoon. The sport activities start at 9.00 a.m. and finish at 06.00 p.m.

The day begins with a first session of a 90-minutes training. After the snack break the work in the game field re-starts. At 01.30 p.m. the students can enjoy of one hour of outdoor swimming before lunch.

At 03.15 p.m. is time to be back in the field. Once the matches of the international tournaments finish, the course day is over with a shower and the last snack break at 06.00 p.m.

The students allocated in the Fundación Marcet’s residence enjoy every day of a leisure activity before supper. They take advantage of the cultural and sport opportunities that a city like Barcelona offers; the players will visit its beaches, the Barri Gòtic, the Sacred Family, the F.C. Barcelona and R.C.D. Espanyol Stadiums, the zoo, an indoor karts circuit, etc. During the Academies’ World Cup of Football there is no time to be bored.
